Orange and Chocolate Cookies

Good morning, everyone! I hope you had a peaceful and relaxing Easter holiday. I took advantage of days ww had  good weather, to take relaxing walks, listening to music with my headphones and recharging myself with the brisk air and the sunlight. For me, there is no better way to relieve tension and stress!

Today I want to offer you some Orange and chocolate cookies that are ideal for weekend breakfasts because they are very easy and quick to make. In addition, they will allow you to recycle chocolate from Easter eggs! Nowadays, there are very few chocolate eggs in my home, but I still remember when my son was a child and when the chocolate was never ending … These Orange and chocolate cookies are delicious and genuine and dipped in cold milk thet are simply amazing, believe me! Orange and chocolate cookies

Prep Time: 10 minutes Cooking Time: 15 minutes

Easy to make and delicious orange and chocolate cookies

Ingredients

  • 150 g plain flour
  • 50 g almond flour (or finely blended almonds)
  • a pinch of salt
  • 50 ml sunflower oil
  • 40 g icing sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • the grated zest of 1 organic orange
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed orange juice
  • a pinch of baking powder
  • 50 g dark chocolate, chopped

Instructions

Mix the flour with the salt, oil, sugar, egg yolk, orange zest, orange juice and baking powder.

Knead the dough with your hands, then mix in the chocolate. You must obtain a compact and well dough.

Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

After the rest, roll out the shortcrust pastry to a thickness of about 4 mm.

Cut the cookies into the desired shape and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 12 - 15 minutes.

Let cool and serve.
